An evening of vibrant modern jazz with an extraordinary quartet.

The Be-Sides jazz quartet credits their origination largely to Michael Hawkins and OMP (Orbital Music Park) for hosting the weekly jazz jam session at Révéler on Sunday nights. Jack Byrnes, Rahib Amin, Stephan LaRue, and Dan Young came together to explore their musical interests on the bandstand as a compliment first as part of the jam session (the A-side). Early in 2023, the ensemble (which at the time was but a serendipitous collection of passionate musicians) was asked to perform a set of their collaborative music.

Jack is a fierce bassist with a mind for the avant-garde. The bona-fide "Master" jazz musician of the group often propels its creative direction through his composition and improvisation. Rahib is a fearless musical conversationalist and polyphonic lyricist. Known for his charming, often relentlessly positive demeanor, Rahib brings to the group a refreshing disregard for the trappings of bebop. Stephan, a humble yet notorious drummer, corrugates, obfuscates, or propagates the time to his heart's desire. His touch is feared, yet loved; firm yet tender; precise, but with a whimsicality that is both insistent and pliable. Dan, resident MC, saxophonist, and occasional whistler, mixes in a passion for resonance, harmonics, and color. His compositional musings are often exclusively entrusted to the members of the Be-Sides.

With only 100 seats, shows at Révéler are intimate and immersive. A romantic venue with exquisite sound and dreamy vibes, Révéler offers a unique selection of cocktails, wines, beers, bubbles, and non-alcoholic beverages.
