Boom Boom Shake began as a collaboration between Elizabeth Muise and Shane Chikeles in 2010 in an effort to create fun drum solos and drum duets. Since then it has grown and evolved into a multi-instrumental music and bellydance performance project featuring guest musicians and dancers.
Elizabeth is a full time, touring professional bellydancer and founding member of the music and bellydance act Boom Boom Shake (BBS.) Elizabeth began dancing professionally in 2009, and since 2013 has travelled the country extensively sharing the stage with many brilliant musicians and dancers performing and teaching at various festivals, conventions, and venues. She has shared the stage with Cu Dubh, Raquy and the Cavemen, This Way to the Egress, and Frenchy and the Punk. Elizabeth has been featured in the Gypsy Nomads Live at Bube's Brewery DVD as well as Cu Dubh's Woden's Hunt DVD with Petite Jamilla. In 2014 she had the pleasure of performing on live television on the ABC/Disney Fusion channel for "Fusion Live", Telemundo's "Buenos Dias Miami," as well as the CBS evening news. In 2021, Elizabeth and Shane Chikeles (co-founder of BBS and former drummer of the Ataris,) decided to take their project on the road. BBS which began in 2011 as a drum and dance duo, now tours Renaissance Festivals and other venues, as a multi-instrumental music and bellydance production. Currently you can find Elizabeth performing at bellydance events, restaurants, parties, weddings, theaters, and renaissance festivals as she tours with BBS. She also continues to teach online and in person classes. Elizabeth loves sharing the beauty and joy of music and dance with the world, and she can't wait to bring bellydance to a stage near you!
A professional musician that has been playing around the world with local and national acts since 1995, Shane is best known for his work with the renowned rock band ‘The Ataris’. He did extensive touring with them worldwide, and performed with them on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS Late Night). He has also played with Jermaine Paul (winner of The Voice Season 2) and progressive indie bands ‘Joshua and Park Ranger, and drum and bagpipe sensation Cu Dubh. Shane was featured on Cu Dubh's Woden's Hunt DVD and performed on live television on the ABC/Disney Fusion channel for "Fusion Live," Telemundo's "Buenos Dias Miami," as well as the CBS evening news. After joining forces with the insatiable bellydancer, Elizabeth Muise, in late 2009, Shane discovered a new passion for Middle Eastern music and percussion. This is the "Boom Boom" foundation of Boom Boom Shake.
