Rogue Johnsen Project

Rogue Johnsen Project

The Stormy Monday Blues Revue is an interactive performance series that celebrates the power of the blues - past, present, and future.

Experience blues music performed by a wide range of artists in an intimate setting. Each show includes a segment where musicians in the audience will have a chance to join the featured performer on stage for a jam session. Our spotlight performer is Rogue Johnsen, a piano player and vocalist who has played with the legends.

Singer/Songwriter/Keyboardist Rogue Johnsen has a unique and impressive resume. Like many, he was inspired to become a musician by recordings. But unlike most, he sought out, apprenticed with, and learned first-hand from some true legends.

Rogue Johnsen’s teachers include the great Charles Brown and slide-master Ron Thompson; he’s toured with Archie Bell and the Drells, W.C. Clark, and Lavelle White; and he’s been a sideman for Johnny Adams, Larry Davis, Sam Andrew (Janis Joplin) and Bo Diddley. Over the years, Rogue and his trio have been the opening act for Albert King, James Cotton, Dave Mason, Robben Ford, and The Blind Boys of Alabama. Rogue’s playing can also be heard on recordings by W.C. Clark, Jesse Guitar Taylor and Chris Polk.

Set 1: The ensemble performs a set of their favorite tunes.

Set 2: After another shorter set, Rogue and the band host a mini jam session with musicians in the audience. This is your chance to play a song or two with the band. Bring your own instrument or borrow one of ours. The stage (with a great collection of amps and instruments) transforms briefly into a living room at Weldon's house. Sign up and further details at the club.

With only 85 seats, shows at Révéler are intimate and immersive. A romantic venue with exquisite sound and dreamy vibes, Révéler offers a unique selection of cocktails, wines, beers, bubbles, and non-alcoholic beverages. Our kitchen delivers small plates crafted with care.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Be cool // OMP is the place for peace, love, support and kindness. Critique must be requested.

Listen // Be mindful of what other players are doing. Be mindful of dynamics. It's OK to not play - music needs silence, too.

Courage // The good stuff is beyond your comfort zone. Make mistakes. See rule #1.
