Chris Sclafani

Stormy Monday Blues Revue
Chris Sclafani

The Stormy Monday Blues Revue is an interactive performance series that celebrates the power of the blues - past, present, and future.

Experience blues music performed by a wide range of artists in an intimate setting. Each show includes a segment where musicians in the audience will have a chance to join the featured performer on stage for a jam session. Our spotlight performer is saxophonist and vocalist, Chris Sclafani.

Chris Sclafani's powerhouse saxophone has electrified the Richmond music scene, performing in extraordinary bands including Brunswick, Afro-Zen Allstars, The Soul Providers, and The Flavor Project. He also led two ensembles: Evolution of The Groove and The C-4tet, both of which performed his original songs and compositions.

With such an eclectic background of styles under his belt, what does the blues mean to Chris? That's what we will find out as he will be performing some of his favorite selections that best show his love and appreciation for the art. A little jazz, a little funk, a little soul, and a whole lot of blues! The band also includes: Sam Koff (trumpet); Freddy Lau (guitar); Nelson Valentine (keys); Aaron Zarrow (drums); and Grady Tollison (bass).

Set 1: The ensemble performs a set of their favorite tunes. (45-50 mins)

Set 2: The ensemble plays another shorter set (30+ mins)

Set 3: The band hosts a mini jam session with musicians in the audience. Bring your own instrument or borrow one of ours. Sign up and further details at the club. (30 mins)
